This weekend, August 13th-15th, 2010, is free National Parks weekend. For those who live in the Northwest, as we do, that means even Yellowstone is free!
Once you’re there, you can Geo-Cache.
Bring along a guide so your children can spot plantlife and wildlife that is indigenous to the area. After all, the United Nations did declare the year 2010 as the year of Biodiversity. But do not, whatever you do, say it’ll be ‘educational’ to anyone in your family. Don’t even think the word. Okay, that’s like saying don’t think of a pink elephant, but now you’re thinking about a pink elephant so you’re safe!
The trip will, however be, adventurous. And if you don’t feel adventurous, well act like you do. And if it’s an adventure, there’s a good chance they’ll remember the education they picked up along with it. Oh shoot, I wrote the word you’re not supposed to think. Don’t worry, I uh… spy a pink elephant!
