Today is Fat Tuesday, and while I don’t understand much of it, I do understand that it’s basically a party before Ash Wednesday.
I can do party.
We’re going to do some of the ideas from Betty Crocker with a little personal tweaking. Sounds like a good night for blueberry smoothies (the purple apparently meaning justice), and a family recipe of taco bake which we’ll add some black beans and corn to (corn being gold which represents power), and then send the kids on a scavenger hunt to find their candy necklaces which have green on them (representing faith).
They’ll wear the necklaces to Tangled, which is playing at the dollar theater early tonight, and sounds like an excellent way to celebrate the end of Mardi Gras for this family!
Does your family have any Mardi Gras traditions?
